Odds: 2/3 @ 888sport

Looking to extend on their La Liga purple patch this weekend, Real Betis will make the trip to Athletic Bilbao on Sunday afternoon.

Starting with the hosts, putting in another toothless display last weekend, Athletic Bilbao are really entering the Christmas break in the midst of a worrying run of form. Eventually hit with a 1-0 defeat against Sevilla on home soil, Head Coach Marcelino has really seen his side come tumbling down the La Liga table. Slipping out of the top-half, the Lions are also enduring an extended eight-match winless run, a run that stems all the way back to October 23rd. In fact, now failing to find the net in any of their previous three top-flight outings, Bilbao have also shown some worrying problems at San Mamés. Picking up just a single point from their last three appearances in Basque Country, Marcelino’s men could be in for a tough test here.

As for the visitors, managing to book themselves a European return last season, Real Betis have once again shocked many across Spain this time around. Opening up this weekend’s trip to San Mamés sat third in the La Liga table, Manuel Pellegrini’s men should find the mood in his camp at a red-hot high. Last seen on top-flight duties landing a stunning 4-0 romp against Real Sociedad on home soil, the former West Ham boss will be confident of his side laying down another marker here. Booking their spot in the knockout stage of this year’s Europa League with time to spare, it should also be noted that Betis have won seven of their last eight matchups from across all competitions. Continuing to shine with their displays in the final third, an away double chance certainly appears at attractive odds.

Bet: Real Betis double chance against Athletic Bilbao 2/3 for Sunday’s La Liga showdown @ 888sport
