Competition: League One

Market: Bolton win

Odds: 4/9 @ Pribet

Looking to make it back-to-back League One victories on Tuesday night, Bolton will welcome Northampton to the Toughsheet Community Stadium.

Starting with the hosts, after parting ways with Ian Evatt last week, it is fair to say that Bolton have shown some extended inconstancies this season. However, opening Tuesday’s showdown sat just a single point adrift of finding a route into the play-off spots, the Trotters have lost just one of their last four appearances across all competitions. Putting in a gritty performance over the weekend as they clinched a 1-0 victory away at Huddersfield, Bolton will now be looking to secure back-to-back League One wins for the first time since the end of October. Extending on their EFL Trophy adventure on January 14th as they claimed another 1-0 win against Lincoln, the Whites will be excited by a dominant record against Tuesday’s guests. Landing an action-packed 4-2 victory when they travelled Sixfields for their reverse League One battle on October 1st, they have also registered 13 points in their previous five meetings.

As for the visitors, while Northampton might have sprung an upset over the weekend as they snatched a 0-0 stalemate away at Wycombe, the Cobblers are still at the heart of a relegation scrap. Appointing ex-Bolton skipper Kevin Nolan last month, the former West Ham coach has a real job on his hands at Sixfields. Despite claiming a 1-0 victory against Burton on January 4th, that is the only win that Tuesday’s guests have collected from any of their previous nine appearances across all competitions. Crashing out of the EFL Trophy last month following a 4-1 drumming at the hands of Peterborough, Northampton have also shown some extended issues on the road. In fact, Nolan’s camp have recorded just a single win on their travels since the start of October. Likewise, notching just a sole strike in their last four consecutive outings, the Cobblers should face another stern examination here.

Bet: Bolton 4/9 to beat Northampton in Tuesday’s League One battle @ Pribet
