Competition: A-League

Market: Wellington Phoenix draw no bet

Odds: 21/20 @ Pribet

Hoping to extend their buffer at the top of the A-League table, Wellington will travel to Lang Park when they meet Brisbane on Friday morning.

Starting with the hosts, while Brisbane might have claimed a much-needed 3-2 victory against Newcastle on January 14th, it appears that was nothing more than a minor boost for the Roar. In the midst of another A-League nightmare this season, Ben Cahn has a real job on his hands at Lang Park. Last seen putting in another downbeat display as they slumped to a routine 2-0 loss at the hands of Central Coast, the Queensland-based outfit have now lost seven of their previous eight domestic appearances. With that extended crisis stemming all the way back to December 10th, Brisbane have also lost all of their last three A-League appearances by an aggregate score of 8-2. Coming under a huge amount of scrutiny and battling it out at the foot of the table, Cahn’s side have also gained a reputation for their glaring defensive issues. Signing off 2023 with an infamous 8-1 drumming away at Melbourne City, Friday’s hosts will be bracing themselves for a stern challenge here. It should also be highlighted, the Roar have lost three of their previous four showdowns at Lang Park.

As for the visitors, while Brisbane might find themselves at the heart of an A-League nightmare, Wellington are riding what has been a stunning wave of momentum. Last seen putting in an eye-catching performance as they secured a 2-1 victory away at Newcastle, the Phoenix currently hold a two-point buffer at the top of the table. Looking to make real history in 2024 and get their hands on a maiden A-League crown, Giancarlo Italiano’s men should be relishing a trip to Lang Park on Friday morning. Losing just one of their previous eight domestic appearances across all competitions, Wellington will be excited by a rampant record against Brisbane. Storming their way to an action-packed 5-2 win when they welcomed the Roar to town on November 4th, Italiano’s side have collected 10 points from their last four A-League meetings. It should also be highlighted, Wellington have secured back-to-back victories at Lang Park by an aggregate score of 4-0. Two sides battling it out at opposite ends of the table, we are expecting an away draw no bet here.

Bet: Wellington Phoenix draw no bet against Brisbane Roar 21/20 for Friday’s A-League battle @ Pribet
