Competition: Serie A

Market: AC Milan win

Odds: 7/10 @ 888sport

Hoping to widen their buffer at the top of the Serie A table this weekend, AC Milan will make the trip to relegation scrappers Cagliari on Saturday night.

Starting with the hosts, while Cagliari might have managed to find somewhat of a boost when signing off February, it appears that Walter Mazzarri’s men have come crashing back down to earth. Last seen getting hit with a worrying 2-0 defeat away at Spezia, the one-time Watford boss finds his side at the heart of a relegation scrap. Suffering back-to-back Serie A defeats, including a 3-0 drumming against Lazio on March 5th, the Islanders will be more than aware that they face a huge task on Saturday night. Holding just a two-point buffer over slipping into the drop zone, Cagliari should also be worried by their most recent meeting against the Italian heavyweights. Making the trip to the San Siro for their reverse meeting back in August, it should be noted that they were hit with a 4-1 drumming.

As for the visitors, although AC Milan might have opened March in the midst of a minor downbeat run, the Rossoneri do appear to have bounced back. Finding a way to build off of their eye-catching 1-0 victory against title rivals Napoli on March 6th, Head Coach Stefano Pioli saw his side come past a rugged Empoli last weekend. Now holding a three-point buffer at the top of the table, the former Inter boss should find the mood in his camp at a continued high. Smelling a golden chance here, AC should also be boosted by their extended success away from the San Siro. Including victories against the likes of Napoli and their bitter local rivals, it should be highlighted that the Serie A leaders are unbeaten on the road since November 11th. Given the recent gulf in class, we’re backing an away victory here at attractive odds.

Bet: AC Milan 7/10 to beat Cagliari in Saturday’s Serie A showdown @ 888sport
