Bitesize Prediction: Celtic vs St. Johnstone – 09/04/22

Competition: Scottish Premiership

Market: Celtic to win both halves

Odds: 11/10 @ 888sport

Looking to build off of their eye-catching return to action last weekend, Celtic will welcome St. Johnstone to Glasgow on Saturday afternoon.

Starting with the hosts, marking their return to action with what could turn out to be a crucial 2-1 win away at bitter rivals Rangers, the mood in Celtic’s camp should be at a real high. Picking up Old Firm bragging rights and widening their buffer at the top of the table to six points, Ange Postecoglou’s men now sit in pole position to reclaim their Premiership title this season. Heading into the fortnight break with a thumping 4-0 victory against Ross County in Glasgow, the Hoops are enjoying a five-match winning run. Gaining a reputation for their continued displays in the final third, the one-time Melbourne Victory boss has remarkably not seen his side lose a domestic contest since way back on September 19th. In the midst of a real purple patch, Celtic should be looking to lay down another marker on Saturday afternoon.

As for the visitors, marking their return to action with a 1-0 win at home against Livingston last weekend, St. Johnstone have managed to find a much-needed boost. However, while Callum Davidson’s men might have picked up back-to-back Premiership victories for the first time this season, they are still tipped as one of the leading relegation scrappers. Firmly battling it out at the foot of the table, the Saints certainly face a huge ask in Glasgow on Saturday afternoon. Suffering a 3-1 loss when they welcomed Celtic to McDiarmid Park on Boxing Day, the one-time Leicester defender has seen his side lose each of their last five meetings against the league leaders. While St. Johnstone might have found a boost on either side of the international break, it is hard to see anything other than a routine home victory here.

Bet: Celtic to win both halves against St. Johnstone 11/10 for Saturday’s Scottish Premiership battle @ 888sport
