Competition: Serie A

Market: Roma win

Odds: 4/5 @ 888sport

Looking to try and find some stability this weekend, Jose Mourinho’s Roma will make the trip to the Stadio Carlo Castellani when they face off against Empoli on Sunday evening.

Starting with the hosts, while Empoli might have impressed many across Italy when making their Serie A return this season, the Azzurri are in the midst of a sluggish run of form. Last seen earlier in the week when getting hit with a 3-2 defeat away at Inter Milan on Coppa Italia duties, Head Coach Aurelio Andreazzoli has seen his side come tumbling out the top-half of the table. Despite enjoying a hugely impressive run when heading into the festive break last month, the Blues have failed to keep up that momentum since opening 2022. Including a 5-1 drumming against Sassuolo at the Stadio Carlo Castellani on January 9th, Sunday’s hosts are in the midst of a six-match winless run across all formats. Holding a woeful record against the European contenders, Empoli should be in for another tough test here.

As for the visitors, while Roma might have shown some extended issues over recent months, Jose Mourinho’s men will be hoping that they have put those problems behind them. Last seen earlier in the week when picking up a 3-1 win against Leece on Coppa Italia duties, the one-time Manchester United boss is calling on his side to now find some stability. With their sights firmly set on clinching another European finish this season, the Italian giants have still lost just a pair of their last eight matchups across all formats. Looking to kick-start their campaign at the Stadio Carlo Castellani here, Mourinho’s side will be boosted by a dominant record against Sunday’s hosts. Landing a deserved 2-0 win when they welcomed Empoli to the Stadio Olimpico back in October, it should be noted that Roma have won each of their last four meetings against the Serie A returners. In fact, unbeaten against the Azzurri since 2007, we’re backing an away win here.

Bet: Roma 4/5 to beat Empoli in Sunday’s Serie A battle @ 888sport
