Competition: ISL

Market: Hyderabad win

Odds: 3/5 @ 888sport

Hoping to find a route back to the top of the ISL table, Hyderabad will welcome Chennaiyin to the G.M.C Balayogi Athletic Stadium on Thursday afternoon.

Starting with the hosts, last seen opening 2023 with another thumping display as they claimed a 3-1 victory away at Goa, Hyderabad are in the midst of what has become a stellar purple patch. Sat just three points adrift of finding a route back to the ISL table, Manolo Marquez’s men should find the mood in their camp at a real high. Now winning each of their last five domestic showdowns, there is no doubt that the Yellows have also gained a reputation for their free-scoring displays in the final third. On a run that is highlighted by a remarkable 6-1 romp against North East United on December 29th, Thursday’s hosts have now notched 17 strikes on their five-match winning run. Likewise, suffering just a single ISL defeat at the G.M.C Balayogi Athletic Stadium since the start of March, Hyderabad should be smelling the chance to lay down another title marker in midweek.

As for the visitors, while Chennaiyin might have been last seen mounting a second-half comeback away at Jamshedpur as they snatched a 2-2 draw, it doesn’t cover what has been a worrying blip for Thomas Brdaric’s side. Still sat four points adrift of finding a route into the top-six, the Blues have claimed just a sole ISL victory from their last six attempts – a run that stems back to November 19th. Knowing that they will face a tough challenge on Thursday afternoon, the Marina Machans should also be worried by their most recent meetings against the title contenders. In fact, it should be noted, Chennaiyin have suffered back-to-back 3-1 losses in their last two meetings against a high-flying Hyderabad. Showing some extended defensive issues and without a clean sheet to their name since the start of November, a home victory can be found at appealing odds here.

Bet: Hyderabad 3/5 to beat Chennaiyin in Thursday’s ISL matchup @ 888sport
