Competition: League One

Market: Under 2.5 goals

Odds: 5/6 @ 888sport

Two sides who find themselves enjoying their own extended unbeaten run, Ipswich will welcome Plymouth to Portman Road on Saturday afternoon.

Starting with the hosts, while Ipswich might have been disappointed to have only picked up a point away at Oxford last weekend, the Blues might have their sights set on making a late charge for the play-off places. Enjoying a largely impressive boost under former Manchester United coach Kieran McKenna, the Suffolk-based outfit are in the midst of a 10-match unbeaten run across all formats. With their stellar purple patch stemming all the way back to the end of January, they have also impressed with their continued success at the back. It should be noted, Ipswich have conceded just a pair of strikes on their 10-match purple patch. Looking to lay down what would be a real marker at Portman Road this weekend, McKenna’s side have also not lost a League One contest on home soil since November 23rd.

As for the visitors, much like Ipswich, Plymouth have also managed to find a hugely impressive purple patch at a crucial time of the season. Last seen earlier in the week picking up a 2-0 win at home against Cheltenham, Steven Schumacher’s side are sat in pole position to book a play-off spot this year. Continuing to gain a host of plaudits from across League One this season, the Pilgrims have won each of their last six matchups on the spin. Making the trip to Portman Road on Saturday afternoon sat five points adrift of breaking into the automatic places, Plymouth have excelled with their displays at the back. It should be noted, Schumacher’s men have kept a clean sheet in each of their six straight victories. In a contest between two sides showing some real defensive resolve, we’re backing under 2.5 goals here.

Bet: Under 2.5 goals at Ipswich vs Plymouth 5/6 for Saturday’s League One battle @ 888sport
