Bitesize Prediction: Millwall vs Ipswich – 14/02/24

Competition: Championship

Market: Both teams to score

Odds: 4/5 @ 1xBet

Desperate to claim a crucial Championship boost on Wednesday night, Ipswich will travel to south London when they meet Millwall.

Starting with the hosts, suffering a real second-half collapse away at Coventry over the weekend as they eventually slumped to a 2-1 defeat, Millwall find themselves at the heart of a real Championship crisis. With many around the Den now looking over their shoulders at a looming relegation scrap, Joe Edwards appears to already have a real uphill battle on his hands in south London. Opening February with a toothless display as they suffered a 1-0 loss at the hands of Hull, the Lions have collected just a single point from any of their previous five Championship appearances – a run that stems back to New Year’s Day. Likewise, crashing out of the FA Cup last month following an action-packed 3-2 defeat against Leicester, the one-time Chelsea coach will have a headache over his side’s recent defensive issues. Including a 3-1 drumming against Middlesbrough, Edwards’ downbeat squad have shipped 12 goals on their six-match winless rut.

As for the visitors, while Ipswich might have enjoyed a real Championship fairytale this season, Kieran McKenna’s side are seeking a recent boost. Sacrificing their spot in the automatic promotion chase, the Blues are without a win from any of their previous four appearances across all competitions. Crashing out of the FA Cup last month following in infamous 2-1 defeat at home against sixth-tier outfit Maidstone, the former Manchester United coach has seen his squad muster just a pair of victories since way back on December 12th. Opening February with an action-packed 3-2 defeat at the hands of Preston, Wednesday’s guests face what is a must-win showdown here. Desperate to make up some ground in the top-two chase, Ipswich should at least be excited by their reverse showdown against Millwall. Landing a 3-1 romp when they welcomed the Lions to Portman Road back on November 29th, chances could come at both ends of the pitch in midweek.

Bet: Both teams to score at Millwall vs Ipswich 4/5 for Wednesday’s Championship matchup @ 1xBet
