Bitesize Prediction: Millwall vs Watford – 19/10/22

Competition: Championship

Market: Over 1.5 goals

Odds: 4/11 @ 888sport

Two sides who will be hoping to find a route into the play-off places on Wednesday night, Millwall and Watford will meet in south London.

Starting with the hosts, while Milwall might have marked their return from September’s international break with a 2-1 loss away at Blackburn, the Lions have managed to prove that was just a minor blip. Last seen over the weekend snatching a late 2-1 victory away at Bristol City, Gary Rowett’s side have now lost just one of their previous five Championship contests and they have gained plenty of praise. With that run also underlined by a 2-0 win at home against Middlesbrough on October 8th, Millwall have their sights set on mounting a genuine play-off charge this season. Looking to break into the top-six on Wednesday night, the Blues should be boosted by their continued success at the Den. Including an impressive 2-0 win against Cardiff last month, Rowett’s side have collected nine points from their last four second-tier battles in south London.

As for the visitors, managing to make a much-needed return to winning ways over the weekend, Watford will be desperate to build off of that display. Eventually picking up a 2-1 victory at home against leading promotion contenders Norwich, new boss Slaven Bilic will be calling on a similar display in south London. Suffering worrying back-to-back 2-1 and 3-1 losses against Blackpool and Swansea earlier in the month, the former West Ham boss is hoping for his side to find some stability at the back. Still sat outside the play-off places, it should be noted that the Hornets have recorded just a single clean sheet from any of their previous 10 outings, a run that stems all the way back to August 20th. Likewise, last seen on their travels getting hit with that thumping defeat away at Blackpool, we could be in for an enjoyable affair on Wednesday night.

Bet: Over 1.5 goals at Millwall vs Watford 4/11 for Tuesday’s Championship battle @ 888sport
