Looking to extend on their recent flurry and move within touching distance of the play-off places, Morton will host Raith Rovers on Tuesday night.
Starting with the hosts, eventually falling short last season as they missed out on the chance to book a play-off ticket, Morton are desperate to go one-step further this time around. Getting Tuesday’s showdown underway sat five points adrift of breaking into the play-off places, Dougie Imrie’s side face what could be a season-defining contest here. Last seen over the weekend snatching a 2-1 victory against Queen’s Park, the midweek hosts have won each of their previous three consecutive Championship appearances. With their recent purple patch highlighted by a 2-1 win against Ayr on March 8th, Morton will also be excited by their extended success on home soil. Including a 2-0 victory against Hamilton last month, Imrie’s men have registered nine points from their last four showdowns at Cappielow Park. Likewise, Morton have suffered just a sole defeat from any of their previous nine consecutive matchups in front of their own supporters – a run that stems all the way back to October 29th.
As for the visitors, although Raith might have secured a silver medal finish last season, the Rovers have failed to find any kind of stability this time around. Almost sat in Championship limbo and with their promotion dreams taking a major blow, Barry Robson’s men have notched just a single victory from any of their previous five appearances. Getting March underway with a woeful 4-0 drumming at home against Queen’s Park, Tuesday’s guests have shown some glaring issues in the final third. Last seen over the weekend settling for a 0-0 stalemate against Partick Thistle, the Fife-based outfit have drawn a blank in four of those five outings. Signing off February with a 1-0 loss at the hands of Airdrieonians, Raith have also gained a reputation for their glaring struggles away from Stark’s Park. Watching their Scottish Cup adventure come to an end on February 8th following a 5-0 drumming against Celtic, Robson’s side have also notched just a sole Championship win on their travels since opening 2025.
