Bitesize Prediction: Newcastle vs Norwich City – 30/11/21

Competition: Premier League

Market: Norwich City double chance

Odds: 19/20 @ 888sport

In what is already a real relegation six-pointer at the foot of the Premier League table, Newcastle will welcome Norwich to St. James’ Park on Tuesday night.

Starting with the hosts, while Newcastle might have had Eddie Howe in their dugout for the first time over the weekend, it was another afternoon to forget for the Magpies. Largely outplayed away at Arsenal on Saturday lunchtime, the former Bournemouth boss saw his side get hit with a 2-0 defeat in north London. In the midst of what has become a real Premier League nightmare since opening the 2021/22 campaign, Newcastle find themselves sat rock-bottom of the table and already chasing a six-point deficit. In fact, the midweek hosts have remarkably failed to pick up a single Premier League victory from any of their opening 13 attempts. Only continuing to show a host of issues at both ends of the pitch, there is no doubt that Howe’s men will know that they face a certain must-win showdown at St. James’ Park here.

As for the visitors, while Norwich might still be tipped as another leading pick in the relegation battle, there is no doubt that the Yellows have found a real boost on either side of the international break. Putting in another eye-catching display over the weekend as they held a high-flying Wolves to a deserved 0-0 stalemate on home soil, new boss Dean Smith will find the mood in his camp at a real high. Desperate to try and find a route out of the drop zone, the former Aston Villa manager has seen his squad pick up seven points from their last three Premier League contests. Managing to muster back-to-back 2-1 victories against Southampton and Brentford, Norwich might be smelling the chance to cause a real upset at St. James’ Park here. Enjoying what has been their brightest top-flight run in recent memory, a double chance appears at attractive odds.
