Bitesize Prediction: Norwich City vs Aston Villa – 14/12/21

Competition: Premier League

Market: Over 1.5 goals

Odds: 4/11 @ 888sport

Hoping to find a route into the top-half of the Premier League table, Aston Villa will make the trip to Carrow Road when they face off against Norwich on Tuesday night.

Starting with the hosts, while Norwich might have put in an eye-catching display on home soil over the weekend, there is no doubt that Dean Smith’s new squad would have been disappointed at Carrow Road. Eventually falling to a close-fought defeat against Manchester United on Saturday evening, the former Aston Villa boss will now be looking to get one over on his former employers. However, although the east Anglia outfit might have found back-to-back Premier League wins on either side of November’s international break, Norwich are still tipped as a leading relegation pick this season. Still rooted to the foot of the table, Smith’s men have failed to win any of their last four top-flight contests, a run highlighted by a 3-0 drumming against Tottenham a fortnight ago.

As for the visitors, also suffering real heartbreak against another Premier League giant over the weekend, Aston Villa will be seeking an immediate boost here. With Steven Gerrard watching his former Liverpool side land a 1-0 win at Anfield on Saturday afternoon, they should still be excited by the early signs of life under the ex-England skipper. Getting his tenure in the Midlands off to a winning start with back-to-back victories against Brighton and Crystal Palace, Villa now have their sights set on trying to find a route into the top-half of the Premier League table. On a run that is highlighted by a turnaround 2-1 win against Leicester on December 5th, they will also be boosted by their last trip to Carrow Road. Landing a 5-1 romp back in 2019, we’re backing what could turn out to be a lively affair on Tuesday night.

Bet: Over 1.5 goals at Norwich City vs Aston Villa 4/11 for Tuesday’s Premier League matchup @ 888sport
