Hoping to skyrocket their way back into the play-off places, Norwich will welcome Derby to Carrow Road on Saturday afternoon.
Starting with the hosts, while Norwich might have found themselves at the heart of a minor blip last month, the Canaries have come roaring back over the past fortnight. Storming their way to a sensational 5-1 romp against Swansea, Johannes Hoff Thorup’s side have secured back-to-back Championship victories. Last seen putting in another gritty performance as they snatched a 1-0 win away at Watford, the Norfolk-based outfit now have their sights firmly set on skyrocketing their way back into the play-off places. Getting the New Year underway with consecutive wins against Luton and Coventry, Norwich will also be excited by their extended success on home soil. Despite watching their FA Cup adventure come to an end at the hands of Premier League outfit Brighton last month, the Canaries have gained a reputation for their success at Carrow Road. In fact, Saturday’s hosts have collected 10 points from their previous four Championship showdowns in front of their own supporters.
As for the visitors, while Norwich might have their sights set on finding a route back into the play-off places, Derby are desperately seeking a much-needed boost. Last seen falling to a 1-0 loss at home against Sheffield United, Paul Warne’s men have a real battle on their hands in the race to keep hold of their Championship status. Travelling to Carrow Road this weekend sat in the drop zone, the Rams have now lost each of their previous eight consecutive appearances across all competitions.
