Bitesize Prediction: Nottingham Forest vs Reading – 12/03/22

Competition: Championship

Market: Nottingham Forest win & over 1.5 goals

Odds: 10/11 @ 888sport

Desperate to try and make up some ground in the Championship play-off chase, Nottingham Forest will welcome Reading to the City Ground on Saturday afternoon.

Starting with the hosts, managing to extend on their FA Cup adventure earlier in the week thanks to a 2-1 win against Huddersfield on home soil, the mood in Nottingham Forest’s camp should be at a red-hot high. While Steve Cooper’s side might find themselves in an uphill battle to clinch a play-off spot this season, the former Swansea boss has seen his side gain a host of plaudits from across the Championship. Already picking up the scalps of both Leicester and Arsenal on their FA Cup run, the one-time European champions should be smelling another golden chance at the City Ground here. With just a single defeat to their name since opening 2022, Forest will also be boosted by their continued success on home soil. It should be noted, Saturday’s hosts are unbeaten in their last seven home fixtures, recording six victories.

As for the visitors, while Reading might have managed to find somewhat of a boost last month, it appears that the Royals have come crashing back down to earth. Making the shock call to bring in Paul Ince to take charge, the Berkshire-based outfit know that they’re in a real battle to extend on their Championship status this season. Last seen getting hit with a 1-0 loss against Millwall on home soil, the one-time Blackburn boss has seen his new side record just a pair of victories since way back on November 27th. With their recent issues highlighted by a 4-1 drumming at the hands of Blackpool when signing off February, Reading should be in for another tough task here. In a showdown between two teams battling it out at opposite ends of the Championship table, we’re backing a home victory here at generous odds.

Bet: Nottingham Forest to beat Reading and over 1.5 goals 10/11 for Saturday’s Championship battle @ 888sport
