Bitesize Prediction: Nottingham Forest vs Sheffield United – 17/05/22

Competition: Championship

Market: Nottingham Forest win

Odds: 6/5 @ 888sport

Looking to finish off the job and book their spot in the final of this season’s Championship play-offs, Nottingham Forest will welcome Sheffield United to the City Ground on Tuesday night.

Starting with the hosts, managing to pick up an eye-catching 2-1 win away at Bramall Lane over the weekend, there is no doubt that Nottingham Forest will be desperate to finish off the job here. While the one-time European champions might have opened the 2021/22 campaign in the midst of a real crisis, they have found nothing short of a stunning rise under Steve Cooper. Only continuing to gain a host of plaudits from across England this season, the one-time Swansea boss finds the mood around the City Ground at the highest it has been in recent memory. Losing just one of their last seven Championship contests, a run highlighted by a 1-0 victory against Fulham on April 26th, Forest have also continued to shine on home soil. It should be noted, Cooper’s side have won each of their last four contests in front of their own supporters by an aggregate score of 13-1.

As for the visitors, eventually getting hit with a 2-1 loss when they welcomed Forest to Bramall Lane a few days ago, Sheffield United will know that they face a real uphill battle on Tuesday night. While the Blades might have signed off their regular-season run with an eye-catching boost, it should be noted that they have struggled with their consistency on the road over recent weeks. On a run that is highlighted by a shock 4-1 drumming at the hands of Coventry on March 12th, Paul Heckingbottom’s men have remarkably failed to win any of their last seven contests outside of Yorkshire. Although United might still have their sights set on trying to clinch an immediate Premier League return this season, Tuesday’s guests should be bracing themselves for another tough test at the City Ground here.
