Competition: A-League

Market: Goal to be scored in both halves

Odds: 3/5 @ BetUS

Two sides who are desperately seeking an A-League boost on Friday morning, Perth will welcome Western United to HBF Park.

Starting with the hosts, enduring a public A-League crisis last season as they claimed Australia’s wooden spoon, Perth have once again shown a string of issues. Crashing out of the Australia Cup on August 28th as they fell to an action-packed 3-2 loss away at Moreton City Excelsior, David Zdrilic’s men have rightfully come under plenty of scrutiny. Opening the new A-League campaign with a woeful 6-1 drumming at the hands of Macarthur, the Glory have put just a single point on the board from any of their first four appearances against top flight opposition. Heading into November’s international break with another nightmare display as they slumped to a 5-0 loss at home against Melbourne City, Perth have continued to gain a reputation for their glaring issues at the back. In fact, Friday’s hosts have shipped 13 goals in their first four A-League showdowns and they already hold the worst defensive tally.

As for the visitors, also spending the whole of last season battling it out at the foot of the table, Western United once again find themselves in an almost identical position to Friday’s opponents. Last seen heading into November’s international break with a 2-1 loss away at Adelaide, John Aloisi’s men have failed to win any of their first four showdowns against top flight opposition. Likewise, yet to pit a single clean sheet on the board since opening up the new campaign, the Melbourne-based outfit have drastically struggled to find any kind of stability over recent times. It should be highlighted, Western United have failed to muster a sole A-League clean sheet since the start of March. However, claiming what was a sensational 4-3 victory when they last travelled to Perth back on April 21st, Friday’s guests will be desperate to kickstart their campaign at HBF Park this weekend.

Bet: Goal to be scored in both halves at Perth Glory vs Western United 3/5 for Friday’s A-League matchup @ BetUS
