Competition: EFL Trophy

Market: Both teams to score

Odds: 8/11 @ BetUS

Looking to extend on their EFL Trophy adventure on Tuesday night, Wrexham will travel to Port Vale for what could be an enjoyable affair.

Starting with the hosts, while Port Vale might have lost their League One status last season, the Valiants have their sights set on securing an immediate third-tier return in 2025. Last seen over the weekend claiming a 2-1 victory at home against Accrington Stanley, Darren Moore’s men should find the mood in their camp at a real high. Including an action-packed 3-2 win against Newport last month, the former Sheffield Wednesday boss has seen his squad muster 10 points from their previous four showdowns against League Two opposition. Currently sat in the play-off places, Moore’s side have lost just a trio of their previous 15 appearances across all competitions – a run that stems all the way back to November 9th. Looking to collect a heavyweight scalp here, Tuesday’s hosts have also impressed with their recent success on home soil. In fact, Port Vale have won their last two home fixtures by an aggregate score of 5-3.

As for the visitors, making a much-welcomed return to winning ways last weekend, Wrexham will be desperate to find some recent stability. Despite drawing a line under their three-match winless run as they secured a 2-1 victory against Crawley on Saturday afternoon, Phil Parkinson’s men are sat outside the automatic promotion spots. Getting 2025 underway with a 2-1 loss against Barnsley on New Year’s Day, the former Bolton boss has seen his squad win just a pair of their previous six meetings against League Two opposition. Showing some real inconsistencies over the past month, Tuesday’s guests have also failed to find any real defensive steel. Despite signing off 2-24 with a 2-1 win against Wigan, Parkinson’s side have recorded just a single clean sheet from any of their previous 10 outings. Likewise, with nine of those 10 consecutive matchups finishing with both teams finding the net, we are expecting a similar outcome at Vale Park.

Bet: Both teams to score at Port Vale vs Wrexham 8/11 for Tuesday’s EFL Trophy battle @ BetUS
