Bitesize Prediction: Preston vs Blackburn – 25/04/22

Competition: Championship

Market: Preston double chance

Odds: 1/2 @ 888sport

In what is a real derby showdown from the Championship on Monday night, Preston will welcome Blackburn to Deepdale for what could be a tense affair.

Starting with the hosts, eventually blown away thanks to a 3-0 victory against Premier League returners Fulham last week, Preston will be desperate to find an immediate boost here. Although the Lilywhites might have endured an extended blip earlier in the season, it appears that they have found some stability under Ryan Lowe. Playing their way out of any potential relegation scrap, fans around Deepdale will be boosted by their side’s continued success on home soil. Including a 2-1 victory against play-off outsiders QPR earlier in the month, it should be noted that Preston have remarkably lost just one of their previous 12 contests in front of their own supporters, a run that stems all the way back to November 11th. While they might be almost sat in Championship limbo, Lowe’s side should be smelling a chance here.

As for the visitors, while Blackburn might have opened 2022 really mixing it in the automatic promotion chase, Tony Mowbray’s side are now in the midst of a Championship nightmare. Only continuing to freefall their way down the table and now needing a miracle to even clinch a play-off spot, the Rovers are in the midst of a five-match winless run. Likewise, along with being last seen getting hit with a 1-0 loss at home against Stoke, the one-time West Brom boss has seen his downbeat squad pick up just a single victory since February 26th. With their recent public struggles highlighted by a shock 2-1 defeat away at relegation scrappers Peterborough earlier in the month, Blackburn have really shown a host of issues at both ends of the pitch. Given Preston’s rampant run of form at Deepdale, we’re backing a home double chance here.

Bet: Preston double chance against Blackburn 1/2 for Monday’s Championship matchup @ 888sport
