Competition: La Liga

Market: Under 3.5 goals

Odds: 4/11 @ 888sport

Desperate to make a return to winning ways on Thursday night, Barcelona will make the trip to the Anoeta Stadium when they meet Real Sociedad.

Starting with the hosts, after being left disappointed to have had to settle for a 0-0 stalemate against Betis last weekend, Real Sociedad could be smelling the chance to lay down a shock marker here. Knowing that they face an uphill battle if they’re to clinch a top-four finish this season, Head Coach Imanol Alguacil does find his side enjoying an extended purple patch. Including a 1-0 victory at home against Espanyol when returning from March’s international break, fans around the Anoeta Stadium find their side in the midst of a six-match domestic unbeaten run. Likewise, along with continuing to impress on home soil, it should also be noted that Sociedad have found a real resolve at the back. It should be noted, Thursday’s hosts have picked the ball out of their own net just one in any of their last five La Liga matchups.

As for the visitors, last seen over the weekend when putting in another downbeat display, Barcelona are in the midst of a recent wobble. Crashing out of the Europa League after a shock 3-2 defeat at home against German outfit Frankfurt, Xavi’s side are desperate to try and find some kind of boost on Thursday night. However, while the former Spanish champions might be sat in pole position to claim a Champions League return this season, they have won just one of their four previous matchups across all formats. Despite facing what could be a tough test on the road here, fans around the Nou Camp should be boosted by their side’s recent displays on the road. Including a shock 4-0 romp away at runaway leaders Real Madrid last month, Xavi’s side are unbeaten in each of their last nine straight contests outside of Catalonia.

Bet: Under 3.5 goals at Real Sociedad vs Barcelona 4/11 for Thursday’s La Liga contest @ 888sport
