Competition: Spanish Segunda

Market: Real Zaragoza win

Odds: 11/10 @ 888sport

Two sides who find themselves seeking a boost on Friday night, Real Zaragoza will welcome Lugo to La Romareda when this weekend’s Segunda fixtures get underway.

Starting with the hosts, while Zaragoza might have opened the 2021/22 campaign enjoying an eye-catching run of form, Los Maños have really failed to build off of that early-season bounce. Last seen earlier in the week when playing out an action-packed 3-3 draw away at Oviedo, Head Coach Juan Ignacio Martínez has seen his downbeat squad win just one of their last nine Segunda matchups, a run that stems all the way back to March 11th. Gaining a reputation as somewhat of a stalemate specialist over recent months, the Whites should at least be boosted by their largely successful run on home soil this season. Aside from a 3-0 drumming at the hands of Alcorcon in their last appearance at La Romareda, that is the only defeat that Zaragoza have suffered in Aragon from their previous nine outings.

As for the visitors, last seen getting hit with a 3-1 drumming at home against Fuenlabrada, Lugo find themselves in an almost identical position to Friday’s opponents. Although Head Coach Rubén Albés might have seen his side extend on their Segunda status with time to spare, the Galicia-based outfit have now failed to win any of their last five second-tier contests. Likewise, it should also be noted, the second-tier strugglers have managed to muster just a single victory since back on March 6th. Potentially facing a tough task on Friday night when they make the trip to La Romareda, Albés’ squad have also gained a reputation for their rather glaring issues on the road. Remarkably, Lugo have failed to pick up a single Segunda victory away from the Anxo Carro in their last 12 attempts.
