Competition: Irish Premier Division

Market: Over 1.5 goals

Odds: 4/11 @ 888sport

Desperate to make an immediate return to winning ways on Friday night, Shamrock Rovers will welcome Shelbourne to Tallaght Stadium.

Starting with the hosts, putting in a toothless display last time out as they suffered a shock 1-0 loss away at Drogheda, Shamrock will be seeking an immediate boost here. Watching their stellar 13-match unbeaten run come to an abrupt end, the Irish heavyweights should be confident of proving that was just a minor blip. Still holding a commanding seven-point buffer at the top of the Premier Division table, Stephen Bradley’s side have also continued to shine on home soil this season. Last seen at Tallaght Stadium picking up an eye-catching 1-0 victory against European contenders Derry City, the Rovers have won each of their last five matchups in front of their own supporters. Likewise, it should also be noted, the defending champions are remarkably unbeaten in front of their own supporters since way back on August 26th.

As for the visitors, while Shelbourne might have only made their Premier Division return earlier in the year, they are in the midst of a real purple patch. Last seen picking up a 2-0 win against leading relegation scrappers UC Dublin, former Chelsea star Damien Duff has done an impressive job since taking charge at Tolka Park. Skyrocketing their way up the table, the Reds have now won each of their last four top-flight contests on the spin. With their eye-catching run of form highlighted by a pair of 2-1 victories against St. Patrick’s and Sligo earlier in the month, Shelbourne do appear to have found a clinical edge in the final third. Looking to cause what would be considered a real upset when they make the trip to Tallaght Stadium on Friday night, we’re backing what could be an enjoyable affair.

Bet: Over 1.5 goals at Shamrock Rovers vs Shelbourne 4/11 for Friday’s Irish Premier Division contest @ 888sport
