Competition: League One

Market: Ipswich Town double chance

Odds: 7/10 @ 888sport

In what is a standout fixture from League One this weekend, Sheffield Wednesday will welcome Ipswich to Hillsborough on Saturday afternoon.

Starting with the hosts, after losing their Championship status last season, it is fair to say that Sheffield Wednesday have struggled to adjust to life back in England’s third-tier. Still sat outside of the play-off places and chasing a six-point deficit, Darren Moore’s men were last seen putting in another worrying display. Slumping to a late 3-2 defeat away at Oxford United, the one-time West Brom boss has seen his side muster just a trio of points from their last four League One outings. With their recent issues highlighted by a woeful 5-0 drumming at the hands of Sunderland when signing off 2021, the Owls could be in for another tricky test at Hillsborough this weekend. Likewise, including a shock 3-0 loss against Hartlepool in the EFL Trophy, Saturday’s hosts have won just a pair of their last five home fixtures across all formats.

As for the visitors, while Sheffield Wednesday might find themselves in the midst of an extended rut, Ipswich should find the mood in their camp at a real high. With their sights set on making a late charge for the play-off places, the Blues do appear to have found an immediate boost under new boss Kieran McKenna. Last seen picking up a deserved 2-0 win away at AFC Wimbledon earlier in the week, Saturday’s guests have now won four of their last five matchups across all formats. With their recent purple patch highlighted by an impressive 1-0 win against Gillingham last month, Ipswich also have one star enjoying his own free-scoring run. With Wes Burns bagging four goals in as many outings, there is no doubt that the one-time Manchester United coach should be confident of his side laying down another marker here.
