Competition: League One

Market: Shrewsbury win

Odds: 11/10 @ 888sport

Hoping to try and move within touching distance of the top-half, Shrewsbury will welcome Lincoln to New Meadow on Saturday afternoon.

Starting with the hosts, while Shrewsbury might have endured a hugely worrying start to 2022, it does appear that Steve Cotterill’s side have found a much-welcomed boost. Last seen laying down another marker, the Shropshire-based outfit shocked almost everyone across League One as they stormed their way to a 3-0 victory away at runaway leaders Rotherham. Finding a way to build off of their 5-0 romp against Morecambe on March 15th, the Shrews will be looking to build off of their recent purple patch here. With a 2-1 defeat against Oxford their only loss from their previous six matchups across all formats, the one-time Nottingham Forest boss has also seen his side really start to shine at the back. It should be highlighted, Saturday’s hosts have kept a clean sheet in five of their previous six outings.

As for the visitors, while Lincoln might have opened the 2021/22 campaign tipped as a play-off contender once again, Michael Appleton’s men have largely struggled this time around. Despite being last seen playing out a 0-0 stalemate against Sunderland on home soil, the former Portsmouth boss has seen his side record just a pair of victories from their previous nine outings, a run that stems back to February 2nd. Likewise, crashing out of the EFL Cup away at New Meadow back in August, it should be highlighted that the Imps have continued to struggle on the road. Last seen away from Sincil Bank getting hit with a 2-1 loss away at Rotherham, Lincoln have now lost four of their last five away contests. Facing a tough test here, we’re backing a home win here at attractive odds.

Bet: Shrewsbury 11/10 to beat Lincoln in Saturday’s League One matchup @ 888sport
