Bitesize Prediction: Southampton vs Norwich – 25/02/22

Competition: Premier League

Market: Southampton win

Odds: 3/5 @ 888sport

Looking to extend on what has been an eye-catching run of form, Southampton will welcome relegation scrappers Norwich to St. Mary’s on Friday night.

Starting with the hosts, putting in another impressive display last weekend, Southampton should find the mood in their camp at a recent high. Claiming a 2-0 win against relegation outsiders Everton, the Saints now have their sights set on securing a top-half finish this year. Smelling the chance to lay down another marker at St. Mary’s on Friday night, Head Coach Ralph Hasenhüttl has seen his side lose just a single matchup across all formats since way back on December 11th. Likewise, along with snatching a point against Premier League giants Manchester City before heading into the brief winter break, the former RB Leipzig boss has also seen his side continue to shine on home soil. It should be highlighted, the Saints have not suffered a single defeat on the south coast in any of their previous 10 outings.

As for the visitors, despite throwing away the lead away at Liverpool last weekend and eventually getting hit with a 3-1 defeat at Anfield, Norwich should be looking to build off of the positives that they showed. Despite suffering back-to-back defeat against Manchester City and Liverpool, Dean Smith’s side have found a welcomed boost in terms of their recent displays. Extending on their FA Cup adventure earlier in the month thanks to an impressive 1-0 win away at European contenders Wolves, the Yellows are desperate to find a route out of the drop zone. However, knowing that they should face a stern test at St. Mary’s here, the former Aston Villa boss will know that his new side have lost each of their last four straight trips to the south coast. Given Southampton’s stellar recent run, we’re backing a home victory on Friday night.
