Bitesize Prediction: Swansea vs West Brom – 08/05/23

Competition: Championship

Market: Both teams to score

Odds: 2/3 @ 888sport

In what looks like it could be another action-packed showdown from the Liberty on Monday afternoon, Swansea will welcome West Brom to south Wales.

Starting with the hosts, while Swansea might have shown some extended inconstancies this season, Russell Martin’s side are ending their Championship campaign with a real flurry. Although the Swans might have already accepted that they will be unable to pinch a play-off spot on Monday afternoon, the former MK Dons boss finds his side in the midst of an eight-match unbeaten run. With their extended purple patch stemming all the way back to March 14th, fans around the Liberty will be calling on their side to make one more statement here. Signing off April with a thumping 3-0 romp away at Norwich, Martin’s side have also collected a hugely impressive 20 points on their eight-match Championship unbeaten run. Really hitting the ground running since returning from March’s international break, Swansea have found a clinical edge in the final third. Last seen in south wales claiming a 4-2 victory against Preston on April 19th, Martin’s side will be seeking a repeat display here.

As for the visitors, opening their Championship finale sat two points adrift of breaking into the play-off places, West Brom know that nothing short of three points will be enough on Monday afternoon. Making a crucial return to winning ways last time out as they claimed a 2-1 victory at home against Norwich, the Baggies must produce a repeat performance in south Wales. However, facing a real challenge at the Liberty, Carlos Corberan’s side have shown some extended issues outside of the Midlands. It should be highlighted, West Brom have won just a pair of their last 10 Championship appearances on the road – a run that stems all the way back to a 3-2 win against Luton on January 14th. Likewise, hit with an action-packed 3-2 loss when they welcomed a high-flying Swansea to the Hawthorns on October 1st, they do hold a worrying record against Monday’s hosts. Winning just one of their previous seven meetings against the Swans, we could be treated to another thriller here.

Bet: Both teams to score at Swansea vs West Brom 2/3 for Monday’s Championship battle @ 888sport
