Competition: Brazil Serie A

Market: Internacional win

Odds: 11/8 @ BetUS

Looking to extend on their recent flurry this weekend, Internacional will travel to a struggling Vitoria on Sunday night.

Starting with the hosts, while Vitoria might have stormed their way to a Serie A last season, Thiago Carpini’s men have drastically struggled to find any kind of top-flight stability since opening up the 2024 campaign. Already scrapping it out at the foot of the table and pencilled in as a standout relegation contender, the former Sao Paulo boss could already have some mounting pressure on his shoulders. Eventually forced to settle for a 1-1 stalemate away at Juventude, the Barra’s Lion are yet to record a single Serie A victory. In fact, Vitoria have registered just three points from any of their opening eight top-flight appearances so far this season. Likewise, crashing out of the Copa do Brasil on May 22nd as they suffered a 2-1 loss at home against Botafogo, Sunday’s hosts have also gained a reputation for their glaring issues on home soil. Including a 2-0 defeat against Atletico GO in their last appearance at the Barradao, they have lost their previous three showdowns in front of their own supporters by an aggregate score of 7-2.

As for the visitors, despite being left disappointed earlier in the week as they had to settle for a 0-0 stalemate at home against Sao Paulo, Internacional still have their sights firmly set on securing a top-six return this season. Booking their spot in the knockout stage of this year’s Copa Sudamericana last week as they secured a 1-0 victory against Ecuadorian outfit Delfin, Eduardo Coudet’s men have suffered just a single defeat from any of their previous seven appearances across all competitions. Likewise, mustering 10 points from their four showdowns since opening June, the Brazilian giants have also found some real defensive steel. Including a 1-0 victory away at Cuiaba earlier in the month, it should be noted that Internacional have not conceded a single goal in over 400 minuets of action across all fronts. Claiming a 1-0 victory when they last travelled to the Barradao while in Copa do Brasil action in June 2021, we are expecting a similar outcome on Sunday night.
