Competition: A-League

Market: Both teams to score

Odds: 7/10 @ 888sport

In a showdown that could see chances at both ends of the pitch, Western Sydney will welcome Central Coast to the CommBank Stadium in the early hours of Wednesday.

Starting with the hosts, throwing away a last-gasp lead at home against Brisbane last weekend, Western Sydney have gained the reputation as somewhat of a stalemate specialist over the past month. Eventually playing out a 1-1 draw on home soil a few days ago, Head Coach Mark Rudan has seen his side have to settle for a single point in three of their last four A-League outings. Firmly battling it out at the foot of the table, the Sydney-based outfit have also recorded just a single victory from any of their last six attempts. Eventually getting hit with an action-packed 3-2 defeat away at Sydney on April 2nd, the midweek hosts have also seen their recent displays produce a host of chances at both ends of the pitch. It should be noted, the Wanderers have seen five of their last six A-League matchups finish with both teams finding the net.

As for the visitors, putting in what was a woeful display last weekend, there is no doubt that Central Coast will be demanding an immediate response here. Eventually getting hit with a shock 5-0 drumming at home against Sydney, Nick Montgomery’s men saw their eye-catching purple patch come to an abrupt end. Really impressing many across the A-League as they picked up a 5-0 victory against Wellington when opening April, the Mariners were previously enjoying an extended seven-match unbeaten run. Hoping to make a late charge for the top-six with a statement on the road here, the one-time Sheffield United midfielder should be boosted by his side’s most recent meeting against Wednesday’s hosts. Claiming a deserved 2-0 win when the two sides last faced off back in December, we’re backing what should be an enjoyable affair here.

Bet: Both teams to score at Western Sydney Wanderers vs Central Coast Mariners 7/10 for Wednesday’s A-League matchup @ 888sport
