Blackburn Rovers 11/8 to score over 1.5 goals against Stoke City in Wednesday’s Championship contest

Competition: Championship

Market: Blackburn to score over 1.5 goals

Odds: 11/8 @ Bet 365

Knowing that three points on Wednesday could see them move within touching distance of the play-off spots, Blackburn will welcome Stoke to Ewood Park in midweek.

Starting with the hosts, while Blackburn may have been disappointed to have settled for a point away at Brentford after leading by two goals, Tony Mowbray’s men are enjoying an eye-catching run. Including landing back-to-back 3-0 and 2-0 wins against Hull and Charlton earlier in the month, fans around Ewood Park have seen their side taste defeat just once since New Year’s Day and they have one leading marksman enjoying quite the run of form. Finding the net twice at fellow play-off contenders Brentford last weekend, the red-hot Adam Armstrong has bagged 12 Championship goals this season, including three in his last three.

As for the visitors, while Stoke may have managed to pick up a 2-0 win over Cardiff at the Bet365 Stadium last weekend, there is no doubt that Michael O’Neill will be most concerned by his side’s continued issues on the road. Hit with woeful back-to-back 4-0 and 4-2 defeats away at QPR and Derby, the Northern Ireland boss has seen his side now lose three of their last four matches on their travels. Also hit with a 2-1 defeat when they hosted Blackburn back in November, Wednesday’s trip to Ewood Park could prove to be another tough test for a Stoke side that still find themselves firmly at the heart of a relegation scrap.
