Borussia Dortmund join race for Sampdoria defender Joachim Andersen

The list of clubs interested in signing Joachim Andersen from Sampdoria is getting longer by the day.

The 22-year-old Danish centre-back has enjoyed a steady progress in the Serie A ever since joining Sampdoria from FC Twente in 2017 and his fine performances in Italy have not gone unnoticed.

The towering defender went from making only 7 Serie A appearances in his debut season to all five starts during the current campaign, not missing a single minute of action thus far.

The Under-21 Denmark international’s appearances have caught the eye of AS Monaco and Inter Milan, whereas the latest reports coming from the Italian media are claiming that Bundesliga heavyweights Borussia Dortmund have also took notice of Andersen’s emerging presence.

Andersen moved to Sampdoria in the summer of 2017 for a transfer fee said to be around €1.5 million.

His contract with the Italian side runs until 2021.
