Both teams to score at Cardiff City vs Reading 8/11 for Friday’s Championship showdown

Competition: Championship

Market: Both teams to score

Odds: 8/11 @ Bet 365

Meeting for the second time in six days after playing out a 1-1 draw in the FA Cup last week, Cardiff will welcome Reading to South Wales on Friday night.

Starting with the hosts, putting in what was a season-best display and picking up a 2-1 win over title contenders West Brom in South Wales in midweek, Cardiff suddenly find the mood in their camp on the rise. While they may have only played out a 1-1 draw against the Royals on FA Cup duties last week, new boss Neil Harris finds his side in the midst of a six-match unbeaten run across all competitions. While the former Millwall boss might see his side enjoying a much more clinical edge in the final third, it should be noted that Cardiff have failed to record a clean sheet in their last four appearances on the spin and they have just one Championship victory on home soil since the 7th of December.

As for the visitors, after putting in what looked like a tied display and hit with a 1-0 defeat at home against Bristol City in midweek, Reading have suddenly fallen off the boil after an electric end to 2019. Falling away from the top half after failing to win any of their previous four Championship appearances, there is no doubt that the Royals have saved their best performances for away from the Madejski. Including picking up back-to-back away victories over play-off hopefuls Preston and Fulham, Head Coach Mark Bowen has seen his side lose just a single second-tier defeat on their travels since the 23rd of November. With the two sides playing out a 1-1 draw when they faced off last week, we’re backing a similar outcome on Friday night.
