In a matchup that could see a string of chances at both ends, Doncaster will welcome Rochdale to an empty Keepmoat Stadium on Tuesday night.

Starting with the hosts, managing to shock many as they secured a 1-0 win away at Championship outfit Blackburn on FA Cup duties earlier in the month, the mood in Doncaster’s camp should be at a real high. Keeping up their momentum over the weekend, the South Yorkshire landed a 2-1 victory against Swindon on the road and they now find themselves sat within striking distance of breaking into the automatic positions. With it appearing that their close-fought 1-0 loss against Shrewsbury last month was just a minor blip, Darren Moore’s men have won six of their last seven matchups across all formats, a run that stems back to December 2nd. However, heading into Tuesday’s showdown at Keepmoat Stadium, it is worth highlighting that five of Doncaster’s last six home fixtures have finished with both teams finding the net.

As for the visitors, managing to bag themselves a last-gasp equalizer against Wigan over the weekend, Rochdale have really gained a reputation for their high-scoring meetings. Eventually playing out what was a dramatic 3-3 draw against the relegation scrappers on home soil, Brian Barry-Murphy’s men have drawn their last three League One contests on the spin. Entering their stalemate run after that stunning 4-1 drumming at home against Gillingham last month, each of Rochdale’s last six appearances on the bounce have remarkably seen at least five goals by the final whistle. Also playing out 3-3 and 4-4 draws against Charlton and Crewe on their remarkable run, don’t be surprised to see yet another high-scoring meeting in South Yorkshire on Tuesday night.
