In what really is a must-win encounter for Dynamo Dresden’s safety ambitions, the relegation scrappers will welcome Greuther Fürth to the Rudolf-Harbig-Stadion on Tuesday evening.

Starting with the hosts, putting in what was a shocking display over the weekend and mounting a stunning second half charge to claim a 3-2 win away at Wehen Wiesbaden, Dynamo Dresden are desperate to build off of that result. Holding two games in hand after returning to action later than their Bundesliga II counterparts, Markus Kauczinski’s men find themselves sat six points adrift of safety. However, continuing to show some glaring issues at the back since returning from the enforced break, Dresden also have a worrying reputation for their performances on home soil. Including marking their return with a 2-0 defeat against Stuttgart, Tuesday’s hosts have lost three of their last four second-tier contests at the Rudolf-Harbig-Stadion.

As for the visitors, putting in a torrid first half display against Sandhausen over the weekend and hit with a 2-1 defeat on home soil, Greuther Fürth are still drastically struggling to find their feet since returning last month. Including a 2-0 defeat against Osnabrück, Head Coach Stefan Leitl has seen his side fail to record a single Bundesliga II victory since returning from the enforced break. Showing some real cause for concern either side of the interval, Tuesday’s guests should be slightly boosted by their most recent meeting against the bottom-three strugglers. When the two sides faced off earlier in the season, Kleeblätter picked up a 2-0 win and are unbeaten against Dresden since 2016. In a matchup that should see chances at both ends of the pitch, we’re backing a lively encounter in midweek.
