Once again turning our attention to this weekend’s Belarusian Premier League fixtures, a struggling FC Minsk will be desperately looking to bring an end to their woeful run when they make the trip to the Stadyen Haradzeya on Friday evening.

Starting with the hosts, while Gorodeya might have been left heartbroken to have seen Ruh Brest snatch an injury-time equalizer on their travels last weekend, the Greens are enjoying a notable run of form. Including a trio of consecutive victories against Energetyk-BGU, Dinamo Minsk, and Belshina last month, Oleg Radushko’s men have collected 10 points out of a possible 15 over the past six weeks and have a shock European charge on their agenda. However, if Gorodeya are to make their own return to winning ways on Friday, then they will be seeking some much-needed stability on home soil. Including a 2-0 defeat against BATE Borisov, the hosts have now lost two of their last three matchups at the Stadyen Haradzeya, shipping at least a pair of goals in each of those defeats.

As for the visitors, after having to settle for a mid-table finish last season, it has been another worrying blip for FC Minsk. Putting in what was another woeful display and hit with a 5-2 hammering at home against Torpedo BelAZ last weekend, Andrey Razin’s men have lost four of their last five Premier League outings and have continued to show some rather glaring issues at the back. Still yet to record a top-flight clean sheet since opening the new campaign, Minsk already find themselves holding the worst defensive tally opening May. With each of the last four meetings between the two sides producing over 2.5 goals and Friday having all the makings of a contest that should produce chances at both ends of the pitch, we’re backing a lively encounter at the Stadyen Haradzeya on Friday evening.
