Both teams to score at Newcastle vs West Ham 4/5 for Sunday’s Premier League showdown

Competition: Premier League

Market: Both teams to score

Odds: 4/5 @ 888sport

Two sides who are looking to get this year’s Premier League campaign off to a flying start, Newcastle will welcome West Ham to St. James’ Park on Sunday afternoon.

Starting with the hosts, while Newcastle might still have a real cloud hanging over Head Coach Steve Bruce, The Magpies did manage to find a real pre-season boost over the summer. Although many around St. James’ Park might still not want the one-time Sunderland boss in their dugout, they did sign off their preparations with a thumping 3-0 win against Premier League returners Norwich last weekend. Ending the 2020/21 campaign by collecting nine points from their final four top-flight contests, Bruce’s side should also be boosted by what is an eye-catching record against Sunday’s opponents. Picking up an action-packed 3-2 victory when the two sides last faced off back in April, Newcastle have lost just one of their last 10 straight contests against The Hammers, a run that stems all the way back to 2015.

As for the visitors, securing Europa League football for this season and shocking many across the Premier League throughout the 2020/21 campaign, West Ham appear to have built off of those displays over the summer. With David Moyes guiding The Hammers to a record-breaking campaign last year, they were last seen picking up an eye-catching 2-0 win against Serie A giants Atalanta in the capital. With attacking talisman Michail Antonio enjoying a free-scoring pre-season run, the one-time Manchester United boss saw his side sign off their friendly run with four victories on the bounce. Also hitting Celtic for six on that run and landing a 3-0 romp against Championship outfit Reading three weeks ago, we could have another lively affair on our hands this weekend. With three of the last four meetings between Sunday’s opponents finishing with both teams finding the net, we’re backing a similar outcome here.
