In a contest that should prove to be a lively showdown on Tuesday evening, Atalanta will be looking to climb back to second when they travel to Parma for their penultimate appearance.

Starting with the hosts, although Parma might have marked their return from the enforced break in the midst of a real struggle, fans around the Stadio Ennio Tardini have seen their side enjoy a recent resurge. Still boosted by what was a shock 2-1 victory against Coppa Italia winners Napoli last week, the Crusaders have picked up back-to-back victories for the first time since opening 2020. Although Parma may have now bagged a pair of strikes in their last three appearances on the bounce, Head Coach Roberto D’Aversa is desperate for his side to make some much-needed alterations at the back. Still in a battle to reclaim their spot in the top-half of the Serie A standings, I Gialloblu have failed to record a single clean sheet since February 16th, an 11-match run. Even more worrying for Tuesday’s hosts, including a 1-0 defeat against SPAL prior to the break, Parma have not recorded a clean sheet on home soil since January.

As for the visitors, coming from behind to grab a point off of fellow high-flyers AC Milan at the San Siro over the weekend, Atalanta have continued to impress on a stunning campaign this year. Already securing another top-four finish with time to spare and still firing in this year’s Champions League, La Dea find themselves in the midst of a remarkable unbeaten run that stems all the way back to January 20th. With a growing reputation from across Europe for their clinical displays in the final third, one man to keep an eye out for in midweek will be the red-hot Duvan Zapata. Once again finding the net against AC last time out, the Colombian marksman has now recorded four goals in his last five Serie A contests and is reportedly attracting interest from across Europe. Picking up a 3-1 win when they last made the trip to Parma, we’re backing another lively encounter on Tuesday evening.
