In an all League One showdown once again in midweek, Plymouth will welcome Sheffield Wednesday to Home Park for their FA Cup replay on Tuesday night.

Starting with the hosts, while Plymouth might have spent the majority of last season looking over their shoulder at the drop zone, the Greens have continued to shock many across League One this time around. Only laying down another marker over the weekend, Ryan Lowe’s men stormed their way to a 4-1 romp away at Accrington Stanley on Saturday afternoon. Skyrocketing their way back to the top of the table and with the mood in their camp at a red-hot high, the Pilgrims are unbeaten in each of their last seven matchups across all formats, a run that stems back to October 12th. With their recent run highlighted by a 3-0 victory against Bolton last month, Plymouth have also continued to shine with their displays on home soil. In fact, since opening up the 2021/22 campaign, Tuesday’s hosts have tasted defeat just once.

As for the visitors, while Sheffield Wednesday might have opened the new campaign tipped as a leading promotion pick, the Owls have struggled to find much stability. Still sat outside the play-off spots after losing their Championship status over the summer, the one-time Premier League outfit were last seen over the weekend having to settle for a 1-1 draw at home against Gillingham. In fact, playing out a stalemate in six of their last eight matchups across all formats, it should also be noted that Wednesday have gained a reputation for their lively outcomes away from Hillsborough. It should be noted, with Darren Moore’s men seeing each of his side’s last six away contests finish with both teams finding the net, we’re backing a similar outcome at Home Park in midweek.
