Both teams to score at Shakhtar Donetsk vs Wolfsburg 4/6 for Wednesday’s Europa League tie

Competition: Europa League win

Market: Both teams to score

Odds: 4/6 @ 888sport

Holding a 2-1 advantage after making the trip to Germany earlier in the year, Shakhtar Donetsk will be looking to finish off the job when they welcome Wolfsburg to Ukraine on Wednesday evening.

Starting with the hosts, picking up a pair of routine friendly wins last week to keep the mood in their camp at a real high, it was nothing short of a stunning campaign for Shakhtar Donetsk this year. Only going from strength to strength following football’s return from the enforced break, Luís Castro’s men lifted their 13th Premier League crown with a 23-point buffer and their performances in the final third have continued to catch the eye. Along with shocking many and picking up a 2-1 win when they made the trip to the Volkswagen Arena for the first-leg back in March, Shakhtar have bagged at least a pair of strikes in their last six appearances on the bounce and are in the midst of an unbeaten run that stems back prior to the interruption. Already putting a pair of strikes past both Benfica and Eintracht Frankfurt on home soil in this year’s tournament, the Moles should be looking to finish off the job in midweek.

As for the visitors, while Wolfsburg might have managed to land just a single win in their last four Bundesliga outings this summer, Die Wolfe did manage to clinch another European finish and have really caught the eye with their performances on the road. Including picking up a pair of 4-1 wins against Schalke and a stunning display away at Bayer Leverkusen since returning to action, Oliver Glasner’s men have remarkably lost just a single contest away from the Volkswagen Arena since the middle of January. If Wolfsburg are to overturn the deficit and book their spot in the quarter-final of this year’s tournament, then Wednesday’s guests will be calling on leading marksman Wout Weghorst to lead their charge in midweek. With 18 strikes this season, the Dutch international has also ended this year’s Bundesliga campaign with five strikes in as many appearances.
