Botman to Newcastle off?

According to a recent report from The Telegraph, Newcastle United are ready to walk away from a possible deal to sign Sven Botman.

The belief is that Lille have changed their asking price from a £30 million bid to £36 million, with the Magpies’ transfer budget being listed as between £80 million and £100 million – far less than many would’ve predicted given their Saudi takeover.

There’s going to be a limit on who they can bring in but based on what Eddie Howe has already been able to achieve since the turn of the year, fans probably aren’t going to be too worried about their prospects.

Still, Botman is the kind of player that they would’ve liked to steady things up at the back, as they’re very much focusing on what’s going on in the final third of the pitch right now.

If Lille stick to this, we can’t imagine it’ll be long before someone else comes in for Botman.
