Competition: National League North

Market: Brackley Town win

Odds: 11/10 @ 888sport

Looking to make an immediate return to winning ways in midweek, Brackley Town will welcome Spennymoor to St. James Park on Tuesday night.

Starting with the hosts, while Brackley would have been disappointed to have had to settle for a single point away at Farsley Celtic over the weekend, the Northamptonshire-based outfit should be smelling a chance again here. Still firmly battling it out at the top of the National League North table, Kevin Wilkin’s men have their sights set on mounting a real title charge this season. Although the Reds might have seen Guiseley end their FA Cup adventure earlier in the month, Brackley are enjoying a sixth-tier purple patch. Managing to muster 10 points from their last four league outings, the Saints have lost just a single matchup since opening the 2021/22 campaign. Continuing to impress on home soil, it should also be noted that Tuesday’s hosts have won three of their first four National League North contests at St. James Park.

As for the visitors, while Spennymoor might still find themselves hanging onto their spot in the play-off chase, they are in the midst of what has become a worrying run of form. Sliding their way down the table, the Durham-based outfit were last seen over the weekend getting hit with a deserved 2-0 defeat against fellow top-seven rivals Alfreton Town. In fact, knowing that they should face a stern test when they make the trip to St. James’ Park in midweek, it should also be noted that Tommy Miller’s side have lost each of their last three National League North contests on the spin. With that run highlighted by a 4-0 drumming at the hands of Kidderminster Harriers when drawing a close to October, Spennymoor have won just one of their last seven matchups across all formats.
