Brentford 6/4 to beat Leeds United in Tuesday’s Championship contest

Competition: Championship

Market: Brentford win

Odds: 6/4 @ Bet 365

Knowing that three points on Tuesday could see them break into the top-two, Brentford will welcome Leeds to Griffin Park on Tuesday night.

Starting with the hosts, picking up three points against Middlesbrough over the weekend in what was a five-goal thriller, Brentford now find themselves firmly in pole position to secure at least a play-off spot this year. Sat just two points adrift of the automatic spots and the mood in their camp at a continued high, Head Coach Thomas Frank will be most impressed by his side’s continued success in the final third. Led by leading marksman Ollie Watkins who has taken the Championship by storm with 20 strikes this season, the Bees have bagged eight goals in back-to-back victories. Also gaining a reputation for their eye-catching displays at Griffin Park after winning seven of their last eight second-tier matches in West London, there is no doubt that Brentford should be confident of making another statement in midweek.

As for the visitors, hit with a 2-0 defeat away at Nottingham Forest on Saturday evening, Leeds suddenly find themselves in the midst of a real crisis. Including being hit with a shock 1-0 defeat against relegation scrappers Wigan earlier in the month, only the Whites’ goal difference sees them clinging onto second spot. On a woeful run of form that has now seen them lose five of their last six matchups across all formats, there is no doubt that Head Coach Marcelo Bielsa will have a growing headache over his side’s continued issues in the final third. Drawing another blank at the City Ground over the weekend, the former Napoli boss has seen his side record just a trio of strikes since New Year’s Day.
