Brentford 7/10 to beat Huddersfield in Saturday’s Championship showdown

Competition: Championship

Market: Brentford win

Odds: 7/10 @ Bet 365

Hoping to close the gap on the top-two, Brentford will make the trip to the John Smith’s Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

Starting with the hosts, watching bitter rivals Barnsley snatch Yorkshire bragging rights thanks to a 2-1 win last weekend, Huddersfield boss Danny Cowley finds his side in the midst of another struggle. Along with crashing out of the FA Cup thanks to a 2-0 defeat away at Southampton last week, the Terriers have lost their last three matches on the bounce, a run that also saw them ship five against Stoke on New Year’s Day. With the former Lincon boss seeing his squad dealing with some glaring issues at the back, many around the John Smith’s Stadium find their side once again looking over their shoulder at the drop zone.

As for the visitors, putting in yet another rampant display in their 3-1 win against West London rivals QPR last weekend, Brentford find the mood in their camp at a continued high. Opening the weekend in third and Head Coach Thomas Frank signing a new long term deal earlier in the week, the Bees have won their last three matches on the bounce and have really started to shine in the final third. Led by leading marksman Ollie Watkins who once again found the net last time out, Brentford have bagged eight goals in their last three victories and will travel to Yorkshire with their sights firmly set on extending their winning run on the road.
