Brighton 3/4 to beat Sheffield United in Saturday’s Premier League showdown

Competition: Premier League

Market: Brighton win

Odds: 3/4 @ 888sport

Knowing they have a golden chance to extend their buffer over the drop zone this weekend, Brighton will make the trip to Sheffield United on Saturday night.

Starting with the hosts, while Sheffield United might have gained a string of plaudits on their Premier League return last season, The Blades have only found themselves in the midst of a top-flight nightmare this time around. Last seen getting hit with a 1-0 defeat away at an inconsistent Wolves, interim boss Paul Heckingbottom saw his side’s relegation to the Championship confirmed in the Midlands. Only showing a host of issues with or without former manager Chris Wilder, Sheffield United have recorded just four Premier League wins this season and appear to be ending their campaign with a whimper. Losing their last six top-flight contests on the spin and failing to build off of that victory against Aston Villa when opening March, it should also be highlighted that The Blades have found the net just once in over 600 minutes of action.

As for the visitors, while some in Brighton’s camp might still be looking over their shoulder at the drop zone, The Seagulls should be boosted by an impressive run on either side of the international break. Feeling like they deserved more from their 0-0 stalemate against Champions League semi-finalists Chelsea at Stamford Bridge earlier in the week, Graham Potter’s side also managed to snatch another point off of European chasers Everton earlier in the month. Bouncing back from that 2-1 defeat against Manchester United, The Seagulls have lost just one of their previous five Premier League matchups and are inching closer towards confirming their safety. Smelling what should be a golden chance at Bramall Lane on Saturday night, we’re backing an away victory for the South Coast outfit this weekend.
