Bristol City 13/10 to beat Huddersfield Town in Tuesday’s Championship showdown

Competition: Championship

Market: Bristol City win

Odds: 13/10 @ 888sport

Looking to build off of their thumping FA Cup victory over the weekend, Bristol City will welcome Huddersfield to an empty Ashton Gate on Tuesday night.

Starting with the hosts, managing to make an immediate return to winning ways over the weekend and landing a thumping 3-0 win away at Millwall, Bristol City once again have a play-off finish at the top of their agenda. Hoping to prove that their 2-0 loss away at league leaders Norwich earlier in the month was just a minor blip, the Robins have largely impressed since opening the New Year. Knowing that three points in midweek could move them within striking distance of breaking back into the top-six, Dean Holden’s men have won three of their last four matchups across all competitions. Along with landing a deserved 2-0 win against Preston in their last contest at Ashton Gate on January 16th, it is worth noting that the midweek hosts have won each of their last three matchups on home soil.

As for the visitors, while Bristol City might have appeared to have really found some momentum since opening 2021, Huddersfield find themselves in the midst of a real rut. Putting in another worrying display last week and eventually getting hit with a 1-0 defeat against Millwall on home soil, Head Coach Carlos Corberán has seen his side come tumbling out the top-half of the Championship table. Coming under real scrutiny after crashing out of the FA Cup against League One outfit Plymouth earlier in the month, the one-time Leeds coach finds his side enduring a four-match losing run across all formats. More concerning for Huddersfield, along with managing to muster just a single Championship point on their travels in their last five away fixtures, it should also be noted that the Terriers don’t have a second-tier win away from the Kirklees Stadium since October 31st.
