Burnley ponder Janssen switch

Burnley are considering a move for Tottenham Hotspur outcast Vincent Janssen, according to the Mail Online.

The twenty-four-year old signed from Eredivise outfit AZ in the summer of 2016 and racked up thirty-eight appearances in all competitions in his first season with the club, scoring six goals.

However, he has featured just once for Mauricio Pochettino’s side since – coming on as a stoppage time substitute for Kieran Trippier in a 2-1 defeat to Chelsea almost eighteen months ago.

The Netherlands international spent the majority of last season on loan at Turkish side Fenerbache where he scored five goals in eighteen appearances while he hasn’t played for his country since October 2017.

Clubs in both China and America have also registered an interest in securing the forward’s services, while he has rejected a loan switch to Sevilla as he is keen for a permanent transfer, with the transfer window set to shut a week on Thursday.
