Sunday’s Serie A clash between Cagliari and Inter Milan in Sardinia was stopped following racial chants directed by home fans at Cameroon striker Samuel Eto’o.

Referee Paolo Tagliavento stopped the game after just three minutes and called the two team captains to the centre circle before asking the stadium announcer to remind fans that the game could be abandoned in the case of racial chants.

The pause lasted just three minutes before the game got underway again.
