While Chelsea might only have five Premier League fixtures remaining, it is becoming increasingly difficult to see how Liam Rosenior can cling to his position in the Stamford Bridge dugout over the final month.

Despite enjoying an immediate boost following his shock arrival in west London back in January, Chelsea suddenly find themselves at the heart of a public nightmare and the pressure on Rosenior’s shoulders has now started to boil over.

Completely blown away against Brighton on Tuesday night as they slumped to a deserved 3-0 drumming at the Amex, Chelsea’s travelling support certainly made their frustrations heard.

Free-falling down the Premier League standings and watching their European dreams come to a thumping end last month, many fans around SW6 are demanding yet another immediate change in the dugout.

Although the Blues might have an FA Cup semi-final showdown against Leeds at Wembley fast approaching, it remains to be seen if the one-time Hull City boss will be at the helm.

Where do Rosenior & Chelsea go from here?

While there might have been plenty of raised eyebrows back in early January as Rosenior was announced as Enzo Maresca’s permanent replacement at Stamford Bridge, Chelsea enjoyed an immediate boost under their new boss.

Officially getting his tenure underway with a 5-1 FA Cup victory away at Championship outfit Charlton on January 10th, the Blues also stormed their way to a Champions League knockout stage ticket as they signed off their group stage adventure with a dramatic 3-2 victory away at Italian icons Napoli.

However, despite enjoying a promising first month under Rosenior’s guidance, Chelsea have come crashing back down to earth in an infamous fashion.

Hit with consecutive 3-0 drummings against Everton and title contenders Manchester City on either side of March’s international break, they have now remarkably lost all of their last five straight Premier League showdowns.

Likewise, gaining a reputation for their glaring defensive issues and mustering just a single clean sheet since Rosenior’s arrival in west London, Chelsea have also seven of their last eight appearances across all competitions.

With that sole victory coming thanks to an expected 7-0 romp against League One relegation scrappers Port Vale on April 4th, fans around Stamford Bridge have made their frustrations abundantly clear.

While Rosenior might have immediately jumped to the defence of his players over the past couple of months, cracks certainly appeared on Tuesday night as the ex-Strasbourg manager unleashed a scathing attack following their woeful 3-0 defeat against Brighton.

Despite not even having four months under his belt in SW6, the pressure on Rosenior’s shoulders is firmly at a boiling point and it is hard to see how the 41-year-old can turn things around at Stamford Bridge.

Could Iraola be the man?

Shockingly announcing this month that he will be leaving Bournemouth at the end of the 2025/26 campaign, it is no surprise that Andoni Iraola has a string of admirers from across the continent.

Since arriving at the Vitality back in the summer of 2023 and replacing current Strasbourg boss Gary O’Neil, Iraola has established himself as one of Europe’s hottest managerial prospects.

While the Spanish tactician might be set to end his three-year spell in charge at Bournemouth next month, he can leave the south coast having handed the Cherries an iconic maiden European adventure.

Marking their respective return from March’s fortnight interval with a pair of sensational 2-1 victories away at Newcastle and title contenders Arsenal, the former Rayo Vallecano manager certainly finds his stock at a red-hot high.

With Bournemouth suddenly sat just two points adrift of skyrocketing themselves into the Europa League spots, they have also gained a real reputation for their free-flowing approach under Iraola’s guidance.

Guiding Bournemouth to a ninth-place finish last season and a record tally of 56 points, Chelsea fans would certainly pounce on the opportunity to bring Bournemouth’s soon-to-be departing boss to west London.
