Celtic 1/1 to beat Kilmarnock to nil in Wednesday’s Scottish Premiership contest

Competition: Scottish Premiership

Market: Celtic win to nil

Odds: 1/1 @ Bet 365

Hoping to bounce back from their Old Firm defeat last month, Celtic will make the trip to a toothless Kilmarnock on Wednesday night.

Starting with the hosts, while Kilmarnock may have managed to pick up a routine victory over lower league Queens Park in the FA Cup last weekend, new boss Alex Dyer finds his side in the midst of a real top-flight status. Hit with a 1-0 defeat away at St. Mirren prior to the New Year break, Killie have lost their last five Premiership appearances on the bounce and don’t have a win to their name since the 23rd of November. A huge part of Kilmarnock’s continued issues of late have come down to some incredibly toothless displays in the final third. Remarkably, Wednesday’s hosts have not bagged a top-flight goal in over 550 minutes of action.

As for the visitors, while Celtic may have managed to pick up an FA Cup victory over Partick Thistle last weekend, Neil Lennon’s men will be desperate for their side to fully bounce back from their 2-1 defeat against Rangers last month. Still holding a two-point buffer at the top of the Premiership standings, the Hoops still find themselves in the midst of a run that has seen them win 19 of their last 21 matchups. There is no doubt that Celtic will also be boosted by their stellar record against Wednesday’s hosts. Including picking up a 1-0 win the last time they made the trip to Rugby Park, Lennon’s side have won each of their last four straight meetings against Kilmarnock.
