Chelsea 4/6 to beat Aston Villa in Saturday’s Premier League matchup

Competition: Premier League

Market: Chelsea win

Odds: 4/6 @ Bet 365

With a golden chance to extend their buffer in the top-four, a high-flying Chelsea will make the trip to a downbeat Villa Park on Saturday evening.

Starting with the hosts, putting in another woeful display and hit with a 4-0 hammering away at Leicester on Monday night, Aston Villa find themselves in the midst of a real crisis. Including watching Manchester City lift the League Cup at Wembley a fortnight ago, Dean Smith’s men open the weekend sat two points adrift of safety and in the midst of a dreadful five-match losing run. Now in pole position to be hit with an immediate Championship return this season, the former Brentford boss finds his side dealing with some glaring issues at the back. With no side shipping more than their 56 goals this year, Saturday’s hosts also hold a worrying record against the former champions. Including a 2-1 defeat at Stamford Bridge earlier in the season, Villa have lost each of their last six meetings against Chelsea and could be in for another tough test this weekend.

As for the visitors, putting in what was another rampant display and hitting Everton for four at Stamford Bridge last weekend, Chelsea find themselves in the midst of arguably their brightest run of the season so far. Including a stunning 2-0 win against league leaders Liverpool in the FA Cup, Frank Lampard’s youngsters have lost just a sole Premier League fixture since the middle of January. Really starting to shine once again in the final third and Olivier Giroud bagging two goals in his last three top-flight appearances, there is no doubt that the top-four contenders will make the trip to Villa park brimming with confidence on Saturday evening. Given their recent record against the Premier League strugglers, we’re backing Lampard’s side to make it three wins on the bounce this weekend.
