Chelsea enter race for Reinier

According to a recent report from Gazzetta dello Sport, Chelsea are set to enter into the race to try and sign Brazilian youngster Reinier. The Flamengo youngster has been compared to Kaka in recent weeks, and has been on a strong run of form with three goals in 10 games – which is hardly bad going considering his age.

The other clubs said to be in the race to get this signing done include Atletico Madrid, Borussia Dortmund, Real Madrid, Inter Milan and Paris Saint-Germain. All of the above have other priorities in the next few transfer windows, but given how much potential there clearly is in this kid, you’d have to imagine he could shoot straight to the top of the priority list sooner rather than later.

Whatever the case may be, Chelsea’s first task is going to be getting their transfer ban reduced. If they’re able to make some moves in January, based on what happens at their Court of Arbitration for Sport meeting later this month, then we’d argue they would be in pole position.
